- Review optional profile settings, including primary name, avatar, social records, address records, and decentralized website contenthash.
- Start the registration request. ENS uses a first transaction called a commit, which helps prevent front-running.
- Wait about 60 seconds, then complete the registration with the second transaction.
- Keep enough ETH on Ethereum Mainnet for the name fee, gas, and any buffer shown by the ENS App.
Once the name is registered, your wallet owns it until the expiry date. You can renew it, transfer it, set it as your primary name, and update records later.

- Use an IPFS gateway or ENS-compatible resolver to test that the CID loads correctly before connecting it to ENS.
- When the site changes, upload the new version, get a new CID, and update the ENS contenthash.
You still need the content to be pinned somewhere reliable. IPFS removes the need for a traditional web host, but availability depends on nodes keeping the content online. For a live public project, use a dependable pinning setup and keep a copy of the source files.
